There will be a church walk on Tuesday, September 24th around the Braunston. area. The details are as follows:
Starting from the Admiral Nelson pub, where we have lunch at the end, we walk along the canal, past the marina, and a couple of locks. We then follow a paved track past the lost villages of Braunstonbury and Wolfhamcote, with the opportunity to look round the church of St Peter’s – all that is left of the village. A walk through arable fields, then through a small patch of woodland, is followed by a downhill track back to the Admiral Nelson.
There are no stiles, and much of the walking is on tracks, with some paths across crop fields and field edges – about 4.5 miles.
Please let Pam Kirkland know by Thursday 19th September if you would like to come, and also whether or not you will be staying for lunch. If so, please let me know what food you would like: http://www.admiralnelsonbraunston.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Admiral-Nelson-Menu-2019-1.pdf
As people may want the chance to look around the church (which will hopefully be open), we meet to start the walk at 9.45 a.m.
